1. Pricing
- All prices apply per person.
- Our dive packages are offered for certified divers per person and cannot be shared.
- Prices include full gear rental free of charge, boat dives, guide/instructor, refreshments, pool training or shallow ocean, PADI eLearning & certification.
- Full gear rental includes mask, fins, weights, bcd, regulator and wetsuit.
2. Booking Policy
- Each certified diver must provide their certification level, experience, number of logged dives, date of last dive, and a copy of their certification card.
- A pre-booking discount is available for reservations made at least one day in advance via email or WhatsApp.
- A non-refundable 150 USD deposit is required to access your PADI eLearning before arrival for your pre-booked PADI course with us.
- A 35% deposit is required to secure your group bookings. The remaining balance is due upon arrival.
- A 50% deposit is required to secure your room booking. The remaining balance is due upon arrival.
- Confirm your arrival date one week prior.
- Confirm your attendance one day prior via WhatsApp (or email) to secure your pre-booked space and prepare your details.
- Last-minute bookings (within 24 hours) are subject to availability. We frequently have last-minute openings for diving, snorkeling, or PADI courses starting as early as tomorrow morning or afternoon. Contact us for availability.
3. Payment Terms
- Deposits or online payments can be paid quickly and securely via our payment link with a 3% processing fee.
- Payment is due upon arrival.
- We accept cash in US Dollars, Euros, or Tanzanian Shillings.
- On-site credit card payments (Visa and Mastercard) are accepted with a 3% processing fee.
4. Cancellation Policy
No Refunds
- Guests who choose not to participate due to personal reasons.
- Guests who are unable to join the boat excursion due to safety restrictions (pregnant women, non-swimmers, children under 10).
Cancellation Fees
- Cancellations within 24 hours or less, during the activity, or no-shows will be charged the full price.
- Cancelled dives during the boat trip will be charged the full price (including Discover Scuba Diving).
- Divers who cannot equalise (balance ear pressure underwater) will be charged for at least one single dive and a destination upgrade (no discount).
- Discontinuing Discover Scuba Diving after initial training (pool or shallow ocean) will be charged 50 USD per person.
- Cancellations during PADI certification courses are non-refundable. However, we may offer the option to reschedule your course depending on instructor availability.
- Group bookings follow the cancellation fee schedule below:
25% for cancellations more than 60 days in advance
40% for cancellations 30-59 days in advance
60% for cancellations 15-29 days in advance
80% for cancellations 6-14 days in advance
100% for cancellations 0-5 days in advance - Room bookings follow the cancellation fee schedule below:
30% for cancellations 8-15 days in advance
50% for cancellations 3-7 days in advance
100% for cancellations 0-2 days in advance
Weather
- Weather conditions will not be considered a valid reason for guest cancellations unless the activity is cancelled by our team for safety reasons.
- If we have to cancel activities due to weather conditions for safety reasons, we offer alternative dates or optional refund.
5. Age Restrictions
- Our services are offered from a minimum age of 10 years old.
- No age limit for divers, they should be healthy to dive.
- Divers whose age or fitness level raise concerns may be recommended for snorkeling instead.
- To ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment during the dives, divers 60 years and older are required to bring a medical clearance from a diving physician.
6. Medical Requirements
- Divers and participants in PADI courses, including Discover Scuba Diving, must complete a medical questionnaire and meet the minimum health requirements to participate in diving activities. This includes disclosing any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, or disabilities to the diving center prior to booking.
- Please review the Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire. We request you consult a physician before participating in scuba diving.
7. Safety Regulations
- Customers booking our services must be able to swim.
- Effective communication with our dive team (English and Swahili) is essential. PADI courses are taught in English! However, PADI eLearning is available in other languages.
- Participants must adhere to all safety instructions provided by the diving center and its team members.
- Diving within specified depth limits, maintaining proper buoyancy control, and following established dive plans are essential for safe diving practices.
- The use of alcohol or drugs before or during diving activities is strictly prohibited.
8. Insurance Requirements
- We highly recommend all participants have current travel/medical insurance that specifically covers diving accidents and hyperbaric treatment. Such coverage is not always incorporated into standard travel and or medical insurance policies.
- Participants should have the emergency contact detail of their medical and travel insurance available.
- In the event of a medical emergency requiring evacuation from Pemba Island, expenses can escalate significantly.
- In the event of a medical emergency requiring evacuation from Zanzibar or Pemba Island, Fun Divers Zanzibar will not be held responsible for any expenses incurred due to medical emergencies, evacuation, or repatriation.
9. Code of Conduct
- Participants must conduct themselves in a responsible and respectful manner towards fellow divers and instructors.
- Avoidance of touching, disturbing, or damaging coral reefs and marine ecosystems is mandatory.
