Introductory Diving Course

Course

PADI Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction into scuba diving without holding a licence, no certification course.

Duration

1/2 day

Academic

You learn the basic safety guidelines and skills needed for your open water dive under the direct supervision of our PADI instructor.

DSD eLearning

Prepare for your Discover Scuba Diving experience digitally with PADI eLearning. You can study offline or online using your own computer or mobile device. Time commitment 20-30 minutes.

Depth

The maximum depth for your open water dive is 12 meters.

Dive Time

We consider your comfort level, air consumption, swimming ability, and sea conditions to create a safe and enjoyable dive experience that lasts between 30‑50 minutes.

Schedule

DSD Practice Session

Enjoy a short briefing and practice a few skills with us in a pool or shallow ocean environment. Steps keep it simple and make it fun to get ready for your underwater adventure.

Your DSD practice session can be at 3:00 PM the day before (own transfer) or at 7:30 AM the morning before your excursion starts (free transfer in Nungwi/Kendwa or Makangale).

DSD Excursion

Join our 1/2 day boat excursion for your open water dive under the direct supervision of our PADI instructor.

Following your single dive, enjoy a complimentary snorkeling session at the dive site.

    Prerequisites

    Be age 10 years or older, able to swim, and medically fit for diving.

    Please review the Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire. We request you consult a physician before participating in scuba diving.

    Effective communication with our dive team (English and Swahili) is essential. Our PADI courses are taught in English! However, PADI eLearning is available in other languages.

    We recommend waiting at least 24 hours after your dive before flying.
