Try PADI Discover Scuba Diving
Introductory Diving CourseCourse
PADI Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction into scuba diving without holding a licence, no certification course.
Duration
1/2 day
Academic
You learn the basic safety guidelines and skills needed for your open water dive under the direct supervision of our PADI instructor.
Depth
Depending on the conditions and your comfort level, the maximum depth for your open water dive is 12 meters.
Dive time
Depending on your air consumption, the dive time is around 50 minutes per dive.
Schedule
Day ahead – 3:00 PM
Plan 45 minutes to enjoy a short briefing and practice a few skills with us in confined water (pool training). Steps keep it simple and make it fun to get ready for your underwater adventure.
Optionally, the practical training can be done in the morning before your diving excursion.
Day of your dive – 8:00 AM
Join our half day boat trip for your open water dive under the direct supervision of our PADI instructor.
We offer a free snorkeling session after your first dive in Mnemba or Tumbatu. You can optionally book a second dive on the spot.

Mnemba Island
The Mnemba Island Marine Conservation Area is famous for the best diving in Zanzibar.
Situated to the northeast of Zanzibar, Mnemba is well known for encounters with pods of dolphins, abundant sealife and great visibility.

The famous reef is a sloping wall with a depth range from 2 to 30 meters. It is covered with hard and soft corals interspersed with a huge variety of marine life. With a mild current you can enjoy a drift dive along the wall.
Sea Life
Sea creatures you are likely to see while diving Kichwani in Mnemba: bluefin trevallys, napoleon wrasses, moray eels, triggerfish, scorpionfish, leaf fish, mackerels, nudibranchs, schools of colorful reef fish and many more. On occasion you may spot a white tip reef shark.

The gentle slope of the reef with a depth from 6 to 30 meters makes it ideal for relaxed diving. Its unique bottom composition combines amazing bommie coral formations and a large area of marvellous plate coral. Countless species of tropical reef fish shoaling around the plate coral make a picturesque mid-water encounter and attract many predators. You can spot the occasional green sea turtle. It may happen that bottlenose dolphins interrupt our dive to engage with us.

Sea creatures you are likely to see while diving Wattabomie in Mnemba: groupers, bluefin trevallys, kingfish, baracudas, napoleon wrasses, triggerfish, snappers, octopuses, frogfish, moray eels, mantishrimps, nudibranchs, indian ocean walkmen and many more.

Tumbatu Island
The Tumbatu Island marine reserve is home to the most beautiful coral gardens of Zanzibar.
Situated to the northwest of Zanzibar, Tumbatu is well known for sightings of seahorses, turtles and a variety of macro marine life. Most of all, the diversity of healthy soft and hard coral species make the dive sites around Tumbatu Island a truly vibrant experience.

The reef is a terraced coral garden starting shallow at a depth of 3 meters. It gradually decents to a depth of 12 meters. Followed by a sandy bottom which slopes down to a depth of 18 meters.

Sea creatures you are likely to see at the dive site Mwana Wa Mwana: frogfish, leaf scorpionfish, mantis shripms, nudibranchs, sea turtles, octopuses, cuttlefish, stingrays, seahorses, schools of colorful reef fish and many more.

Reef
The reef is a small coral wall which drops down from 5 to 12 meters. Its bottom holding some coral bommies gently slopes down to a depth of 20 meters.

Sea creatures you are likely to see at the dive site Ras Misikitini: mantis shripms, leaf scorpionfish, nudibranchs, frogfish, sea turtles, stingrays, scorpionfish, spottwing flying gunnards, schools of colorful reef fish and many more.

The reef is a small coral wall which drops down from 3 to 12 meters, followed by a little slope decending to 16 meters. Most of all the eyecatching colors of the corals at a depth of around 5 meters make a vibrant experience for both the snorkelers and divers.

Sea creatures you are likely to see at the dive site Three Turtles: octopuses, stingrays, sea turtles, scorpionfish, schools of colorful reef fish and many more.

Reef
The reef is composed of coral and sandy bottom patches. It starts at a depth of 10 meters and gently descends to 14 meters, followed by a gradual slope down to a depth of 20 meters. Shane´s reef is home to a large variety of macro marine life and extraordinary sea creatures.

Sea creatures you are likely to see at the dive site Shane´s Reef: crocodile fish, weedy scorpionfish, frog fish, seahorses, mantis shripms, black-blotched porcupinefish, leaf scorpionfish, spottwing flying gunnards and many more.
